A visionary with a personal ethos that reads "free education for all", he aspired for a free medical/surgical education tool which encompasses modern day technology to provide trainees with a user friendly, interactive questions and concise tutorial based platform. The outcome of these aspirations was The Master Surgeon website, a concept which was conceived in 2008. Subsequently the website was established locally at the Walsall Manor hospital where Mr. Mittapalli was the clinical fellow in charge of surgical education for medical students. The concept was hailed by many and in 2010 led to a significant expansion with provision of services to the wider national and international trainee medical community.
Mr. Mittapalli graduated from the NTR University of Health Sciences in India. Eventually he came to the UK to pursue surgical career. After completing Basic Surgical Training in Manchester, he worked as teaching fellow at Manor Hospital and was an Honorary Clinical Lecturer at Birmingham University. He is currently working as a Specialist Registrar in surgery in the East of Scotland Deanery. He is also a keen educator and has a diploma in medical education. He has contributed to surgical literature and is the author of a number articles and book chapters. Mr Mitapalli was the chairman of The Master Surgeon Trust in its' inaugural year. |
